The Wonders of Love What is it about love that makes people search endlessly for it? We are all capable of love, yet more often than not, we seem to have trouble finding it. Often, once weve found it, we have a hard time holding on to it. Why is that? I believe its because people dont know what true love is all about. They think its all about the feelingsÂ… the butterflies in your stomach, the passion, the anguish of waiting to see that person again. And dont get me wrong, these are all wonderful things to experience. However, they are not what makes love. They help to create the initial relationship, but what will ultimately hold your relationship together is time and effort. You cant simply run away when things get tough, you†¦show more content†¦You dont need to communicate, in order to be in lust with someoneÂ… but you do need it for love. Davies continues in his essay: People who love each other should talk to each other; they should confide their real thoughts, their honest emotions, their deepest wishes. How else are they to keep their union in repair? (54) That is my point exactly! If you dont talk to each other, youll never know whats going on. You cant just assume that everythings fine, simply because you arent fighting. There are many benefits to being able to have a good conversation with each other. One person may be having a bad day and need someone to talk it out with, or even just vent to; who better than their soul mate? Who would better understand the trials and tribulations you both face? Talking things out is the best way to work out any and all problems that couples face. As the brilliant William Shakespeare points out in Sonnet 116: Â…love is not love which alters when alteration findsÂ… it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken (2-6). True love doesnt back down just because youve encountered a problem, true love can weather any storm. All you need to do is be able to work it out between you. But in order to do that, you need to be able to communicate with each other. If you dont communicat e, you may end up never really knowing each other.
